From the first save to iCloud sync — how to use Shimau, one thing at a time.
Getting started
Add Shimau to the iOS share sheet
Turn Shimau on in the share menu so you can save from any app.
Save your first thing
From the page you are on, or from inside the app. And what happens after.
Find it with the words you remember
No exact keywords needed. It also tells you what each result matched on.
Everyday
Save screenshots
The text inside the image becomes searchable. Reading it happens on your device only.
Bundle things into boxes
You don't have to sort anything — search finds it. Boxes are for when you want them anyway.
Get reminded about deadlines only
Just confirm the date the AI found. Three levels of how loudly to tell you.
Stick to-dos on the wall
Put them on the Home wall and peel them off when done. Instead of ticking a box.
Write down the day
A mood, a few words, a photo. Once a day, that's all.
Bring forward, hide, throw away
Keep what you use on Home. Hide what you'd rather not show. Thrown-away things come back for 30 days.
Going further
Change how it looks
Not just the colors — the journal characters and the box illustrations change too.
Sync with iCloud, or take a backup
Nothing is lost when you change devices. The same contents on iPhone and iPad.
Lock the app
Open it with Face ID. Some things it cannot hide, so those are written down here too.
Use it on iPad
The larger screen splits into two. It also works alongside other apps.
Export and take it with you
Markdown or JSON. It's free.
