What you save can be taken out at any time, from Export data under Data in Settings.
Export format offers two.
- Markdown — readable as it is, for moving into another notes app or editor
- JSON — keeps the structure, for processing it yourself
Exporting is free.
Not the same as a full backup
Back up everything makes a file for restoring back into Shimau, photos and PDFs included. Other apps cannot open it.
Export when you have somewhere to move to; back up when you intend to come back to Shimau.
Where it is kept
Before and after exporting, everything you saved is on this device. It is not stored on our servers.
